Project Brief

The brief was to take full control of the creation, implementation, launch, promotion and management of an international data and AI award series. The awards were to be global and of high prestige, so it was important to attract a highly qualified and independent panel of judges, and to ensure that everything about the awards had an international focus.
Key elements within the brief were as follows:
  • To create and launch an international series of awards for the data and AI sector
  • To develop the identity and branding for the awards
  • To create a sustainable format to enable the awards to continue as an annual event
  • To create a judging panel of international experts
  • To develop an online system to accept entries, automate the admin process and allow judges to login to review shortlists
  • To launch and promote the awards to entrants
  • To manage the announcement of winners
  • To handle admin, media enquiries and to provide support on social media
The International Data Science Awards were launched in London, at the AI & Big Data Expo, at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in March 2019 with the Winners announced at the AI & Big Data Expo in Santa Clara, Silicon Valley in California in November. There was an international panel of 29 judges from 10 different countries including the VP of Data Science for PayPal.

2020 and Beyond
The inaugural 2019 event proved to be both successful and sustainable. The infrastructure and contacts are now in place to enable the awards to continue well into the future.
